SOUTH CARIBOO IDOL 2009
CONTEST RULES
AUDITIONING RULES
Each person who auditions will have two minutes to present their vocal abilities to
a panel of five local judges. Each performer will be allowed the accompaniment of a
piano or an acoustic guitar. Guitars and piano will be available.
Entrants who receive a call back will have three minutes to sing accompanied by
either a piano, acoustic guitar, or back tracks. (Back tracks must be in MP3 or
Wave format.) Entrants will be contacted at the phone number on their entry form
if they are to return for a call back.
The auditioning will continue until the judges have narrowed the competition down to
ten finalists. The South Cariboo Idol will be judged from start to finish by these
same five judges. There will be no public voting.
ELIGIBILITY AND RECORDING RIGHTS
Those under the age of eighteen will need a parent or guardian's signature to enter
the contest. All contestants must agree to allow photographs to be used in newspapers,
to permit their song(s) to be played on radio stations, newageent.com and to be
videotaped by television producers who may wish to broadcast performances of the
2009 South Cariboo Idol finalists.
Any recordings mastered at New Age Studio will remain the property of the 100 Mile
House Rotary Club and New Age Entertainment (excluding all original songs). All
judges will be at each event looking for various abilities including pitch, vocal
range and smoothness, originality and stage presence.
No individual under contract (recording, entertainment, management or otherwise) or
employed by or affiliated with New Age Entertainment or 100 Mile House Rotary Club
will be eligible to participate in the contest.
FINALISTS
The ten finalists will be asked to perform at some or all of the local fundraising
events in the South Cariboo such as Canlan's Annual Family Barn Dance, Cancer Relay
for Life, Music On The Lake, People Who Care, the South Cariboo Garlic Festival and
maybe a few other events if they can be fit into their schedules.
All the South Cariboo Idol finalists must perform at the concert to be held at Martin
Exeter Hall in late August, 2009.
Final performances will take place in September at the 2009 Rotary Fall Fair on
Rotary's Community Stage at the South Cariboo Recreation Center, 100 Mile House.
GENERAL
New Age Entertainment and the 100 Mile House Rotary Club will do their best to
ensure that the South Cariboo Idol 2009 is run fairly. If the contest is successful
in 2009 it will continue.
The top three winners from the 2009 South Cariboo Idol will not be eligible to re-enter
the contest until 2011.
I have read the above Contest Rules carefully and agree to follow them. I understand
that this contest is not only about winning a prize but to support our community and
its fundraising efforts throughout the entire South Cariboo Idol competition. New Age
Entertainment and the 100 Mile House Rotary will disqualify any finalists for behavior
disruptive to the South Cariboo Idol Contest.
Good luck and thank you in advance for supporting your community.
